A Level Science Practical Endorsement for Private Candidates

The A Level practical endorsement is the single hardest thing for a private candidate to arrange, and it is one of our core specialisms. We deliver Biology, Chemistry and Physics practicals in our own laboratories, assessed against CPAC, so you can complete your science A Levels in full.
Why it is scarce

The Provision Most Centres Avoid

Reformed A Level sciences require candidates to complete at least twelve practical activities, assessed by the centre against the Common Practical Assessment Criteria and reported separately from the written grade. A centre can only offer this if it has laboratories, qualified science teachers and a satisfactory monitoring visit.

Most private exam centres do not, so they refuse science practicals altogether, or outsource them to partner tutors in hired rooms. As a maths and science college, we run the endorsement ourselves, properly, every year.

How it works

A Structured Practical Programme, Not a Single Afternoon

You complete the required practicals across a scheduled programme in our laboratories, observed and assessed by our science specialists. We maintain the contemporaneous records the awarding body expects and report your endorsement alongside your written entry.

You can sit the endorsement with us whether or not you studied with us, provided we can confirm the work meets the standard.

Yes, if you register with a centre that has the laboratories, qualified staff and monitoring visit clearance to deliver it. LMSC does, which is why we can offer it when many centres cannot.

Not necessarily. The priority is that the practical work genuinely meets the standard, assessed by our specialists. Talk to us about your situation and we will advise.

AQA, OCR and Edexcel assess practical skills through CPAC. We support these specifications, and can advise on Cambridge International alternatives where practical skills are tested by written paper.

Yes, the practical endorsement is charged in addition to the written entry, as it involves laboratory time and specialist assessment. It is shown clearly on our pricing page.

Yes. Many retake and private candidates combine the endorsement with revision intensives and mock exams for a stronger overall result.
