LMSC Teaching Philosophy

Clarity First

We break complex ideas into manageable steps, using examples, diagrams and questions to check understanding at each stage.

Practice with Purpose

We structure practice so that students build fluency, retrieve knowledge smoothly and develop exam readiness.

Feedback You Can Act On

We give specific, actionable feedback so students know exactly what went wrong and how to improve.

Stretch with Support

We offer challenging questions and extension work, but always with support available, so students grow without feeling lost.

Our schemes of work follow the British A Level and GCSE specifications, but they are more than checklists of topics. We sequence learning so that each idea prepares the ground for the next, and we revisit key skills throughout the year.

Our Teaching Models

Teacher and student discussing progress

In person (London Campus)

  • Live teaching in small classrooms
  • Whiteboard explanations, physical resources and practical demonstrations
  • Immediate support during independent work and exam practice

Hybrid

  • A planned mix of on-campus and online lessons
  • The same scheme of work and assessments as other modes
  • Flexibility for students balancing travel, health or other commitments

Fully Online

  • Live virtual lessons via our online classroom
  • Digital whiteboard, screen-sharing and interactive tools
  • Full access to lesson recordings and downloadable notes

Wherever you join from, you are enrolled in the same British programme, not a watered-down online version.

In the LMSC Classroom

Students learning in class

Learning in Small Groups

Classes are deliberately kept small so teachers can check understanding, ask questions by name and give targeted support to every student.

Always-Available Resources

Lessons follow a simple rhythm: recap, new ideas in small steps, modelled examples, then guided and independent practice to secure learning.

Always-Available Resources

Quick quizzes, exit tickets and topic tests help students track progress, reduce exam anxiety and show exactly what to work on next.

Always-Available Resources

Online students can access lesson recordings and digital resources, while on-campus learners use the same materials to review, revise and stay on top of each subject.

What a Typical STEM Lesson Looks Like

1

Review & connect

  • Quick recap of the previous lesson or a short retrieval quiz
  • Linking today’s topic to what students already know
2

Explain & model

  • Teacher explains a new idea, modelling worked examples step by step
  • Students ask questions and see common mistakes addressed explicitly
3

Practise & check understanding

  • Students attempt questions, from scaffolded tasks to exam-style problems
  • Teacher circulates (in person) or checks responses (online) and gives feedback
  • Misconceptions are tackled immediately, not left to build up

How It Works

At LMSC, learning is delivered through live lessons in our secure online classrooms, supported by a simple, easy-to-use digital platform. Students can access timetables, resources, recordings and assignments in one place, helping them stay organised, take control of their progress and make the most of every lesson.
Online learning platform

Simple, Central Platform

Students log in once to access their timetable, live lessons, resources, homework and messages — all in one organised place.

Live Online Classrooms

Lessons run in real time with teachers and classmates, using chat, polls and interactive tools to keep students engaged.

Lesson Recordings On-Demand

Recorded lessons and uploaded materials mean students can revisit explanations, catch up after absence and build a revision library.

Progress You Can See

Marks, feedback and upcoming deadlines are clearly visible, helping students (and families) track progress and plan their study time.

LMSC Virtual Classrooms

Our live virtual classrooms bring LMSC lessons to life. Students join a secure online space where they can see explanations in real time, ask questions, and take part in structured activities — not just watch a screen.
Virtual classroom learning

Interactive by Design

Teachers use chat, polls, quizzes and mini whiteboards to check understanding and keep everyone involved.

Breakout Groups

Students regularly work in smaller groups to discuss ideas, tackle problems and collaborate on tasks.

Inclusive Activities

A mix of discussion, guided practice and independent tasks supports different learning styles and confidence levels.

Watch again, learn better

Lesson recordings are available to replay, helping students revisit tricky topics and take control of their own revision.

LMSC E-learning Platform

Our digital school platform is the central hub for LMSC life, keeping students and families connected, organised and supported.
